Jodhpur is located near the geographical centre of the state of Rajasthan. It is a popular tourist destination composed of many palaces, forts and temples set in the natural landscape of the Thar Desert. It is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is popularly known as the “Blue City” among the people of Rajasthan and all over the India because almost all the houses are blue in colour.

Being located near the Thar Desert, the temperature here is very high. During summer season which is from March to June the temperature here touches 45oC or even more in the daytime only the night brings some relief. It is best to not visit Jodhpur during this time because of the heat waves it is impossible to move around. During monsoon season, from July to September, the temperature stays in between 25oC to 35oC which reduces the heat of Summer but increases the humidity. Which also makes difficult for roaming around this city. From October to February , winter season, is the best time to visit here, when temperature ranges in between 10oC to 24oC , this places becomes pleasant for outdoor activities.

3. Umaid Bhavan Palace – to witness the luxurious side of the city it is one of those places. Designed by HV Lanchester, built of sandstone sand marble the architecture of this palace has been describes as a blend of Lindo-Saracenic, Classical Revival and Westeren Art Deco styles. A part of this magnificent establishment also houses a museum which exhibits various royal items.
4. Khejarla Fort – this ancient establishment has been converted into a hotel. By the fort’s picturesque settings, latticed friezes and intricate carvings, visitors are mesmerized.
5. Toorji ka Jharls – it is one those places where you can observe the traditional water management system of Jodhpur. During Gangaur, a women’s festival, this place plays a significant role.
6. Chand Baori – established in 9th century this step well is a very famous place of Jodhpur. 64ft and 13 floor, making it the biggest well of India.
7. Mandore Gardens – the tour of Jodhpur is incomplete without visit here. This wonderful attraction has so many cenotaphs, old temples and stone idols of Rajput folk heroes which will take you the trip of the past.
8. Phool Mahal – as the name suggests this place is made in the shape of flower which is decorated with gold is another famous place of Jodhpur.
9. Sheesh Mahal – located within the compound of Mehrangarh Fort, this stunning establishment made with glass is a magnificent piece of architecture. From floors to ceiling to the walls everything is beautifully designed with mirror.
10. Moti Mahal – this is the largest and brightest hall of Jodhpur where queens used to listen proceedings through glass windows and five nooks.
